Bridge View Garrigill lies on both the Pennine Way and the C2C Cycle Route.

Thortergill Forge is a working blacksmith's forge, providing a range of hand-made ironwork, run by Andrew and David Johnson. A great choice for a rainy afternoon, the forge also has tearooms and the waterfall walk.

South Tynedale Railway operates between Alston and Kirkhaugh, and is England's highest narrow gauge railway. Also tea rooms and shop.

Ashgill Falls - Not far from Garrigill lies the spectacular waterfall at Ashgill. Well worth a visit, you can walk behind the wall of water for a spectacular view from within!

Bridge View The George and Dragon Inn is a traditional free house providing an excellent range of real ales and food.

St John's swimming pool is available for swimming or a sauna, situated right in the heart of Garrigill.

Nenthead Mines Heritage Centre One of the highest villages in England and also one of the most important lead mining centres of its time, there is an excellent visitor centre in the village.

Alston - this nearby market town is home to a wide variety of specialist shops and art galleries as well as being the setting for a recent TV production of Oliver Twist

The Village Bakery - the famous organic bakery boasting a newly refurbished restaurant, a gallery and shop for you to buy their delicious wares.

The Pennine Pottery - a short distance from Alston you can see the potter at work, buy pots and take tea in the tea room.
